Works as intended but be sure to run water out of it before using every time as black charcoal particles will come out almost every time at first. After letting it run a minute or two then go ahead and fill up. Would be 5 stars but my home filters I have don't allow this much charcoal to come out as if it did my ice cubes would look black.

We do not leave home without this! Easy to attach and makes the campsite water useable. There isn't any bad taste or smell. Let the water run a minute or so once attached, then all should be fine.

Water doesn't taste like my hose anymore

When I'm hooked up to the park's water, I use my hose and find that after the first day my water tastes like my hose, yuck! I looked at CW for a filter and found this affordable one and decided to give it a try. Love it! Water is tasteless like it should be and the flow and pressure is as if it wasn't there. I'm heading back to get more while they're on sale when I get home and stock up for the next couple of years.

I did not notice any reduction in flow or pressure by using this. Simple to set up and the water tastes fine. I wasn't looking for a filter to produce great tasting water as I bring my own drinking water but have been in camps where the water smells bad and is not good for even brushing teeth. great product and will buy another when when needed.

    April 07, 2014
I have tried a couple of other RV water filters. The TastePure KDF/Carbon water filter is as good as the best I have tried, considerably better than most. The price has them all beat. We have been using them exclusively for about the past 7-8 years. I used the first one for two seasons, after the second season noticed a reduction in water flow, so I replaced the filter and realized it was suppose to be replaced each year. Hand tighten only and have never had a leak. Really does its job.

Be sure to flush it before first use- otherwise you get carbon in your pipes. Just replaced it after 70 days on the road- just for peace of mind. We use a brass elbow instead of the short hose for rig attachment.

Have used this brand of filter for several years. Love the taste of the water when using this filter gets the well water and sulfur taste and smell out. Very happy with GPM flow and filtration out team it up with the 90 degree faucet so even getting water outside the trailer is good. Use several times a year up to a week or two at a time. I discard every Nov. when we winterize the trailer and replace our filter every spring, I purchase on sale.

We used this for the first time on our trip to northern Michigan, which has plenty of iron in well water, enough to stain your rig if you aren't careful. Using this filer you would never know it. The water tasted great - no odor or iron.

We've only used this once since we got it, but the difference in the taste (or lack of) in the water was amazing. We don't drink glasses of water straight from the camper faucets, but we use it to cook with, brush our teeth, and take our medicine. I only noticed a very slight taste to the water after installing the water filter. Very much worth the money!

Perfect for city water or filling my holding tank. The flow rate is fantastic. This is the best protection to GPM ratio that I could find. I will be using the same filter from now on. I use a sink filter for drinking water still because this will not remove 100% of the taste and contaminant issues. It provides optimum service for my needs.

I've been using the older model of this filter for years. They were good and this seems even better. Just remember to let it flow for a moment before filling your tank to get rid of excess carbon. Be aware that this or no other filter will take out calcium. This will remove the nasty rust and sediment that is present in any water system of reasonable age.

As full-timers, we depend on water filters. TastePureKDF works great. Our filters last three months of everyday use. People have problems when they: (1) don't use a proper water hose (white); (2) don't flush the hose with bleach periodically; (3) allow water to sit for weeks without rinsing the hose; (4) don't follow directions for installation and refuse to do an initial flush of excess carbon, etc. Hand tightening is enough when one uses teflon tape on the joins. If you're camped in sandy water areas or poor well water you can't expect the filter to solve those problems. For extra caution and coffee, we use an additional filter in the kitchen.

I live in my travel trailer year round. So drinking clean, great tasting water is important to me. The TastePure Inline Water Filter does a great job of filtering the bacteria and impurities that can be found in many campsites water supply. During the winter months though, when temperatures reach 10-20 degrees, it is necessary to use that heater tape on your water supply to keep the water lines from freezing. I have found that the heater tape burns a hole thru the plastic water filter, so I recommend removing the water filter for the winter months or you will have to replace it more often than you might care to replace it.

We bought our first one of these filters at Shipps RV Park in Chattanooga. It was the first time we had seen it. This was in Summer of 2003. We have used this brand filter ever since. It removes any particles of rust, scale, sand etc. Water quality is very good. No odor or taste when drinking. One filter will last you about a year with 9 out of 12 months useage. It will stop allowing water flow when it is full and it's life is done. ALWAYS carry a spare to replace the one in use if it should shut down when you least expect it. Good item, good price. We will continue to use them.

I just used my water filter for the first time at Thousand Trails Pio Pico. They had huge problems with the water in the park after all the flooding from the rain in Jan..... I first hooked up the hose directly and sampled the water via a visual test. Water was brownish and had a slight odor. After connecting the filter the water was clear, no odor and it had very little affect as to the water pressure since I run it off of a 40psi water regulator. In short it worked well on my new Fleetwood PopUP!!!!

I use these filters in-line with the hose that I use to wash the MH and other vehicles that we own. It reduces spotting considerably. Although the MH has a built in water filter, I also use these filters to reduce contaminants when filling the reservior. It allows our dog to always have water "from home" eliminating possible bowel problems caused by contaminants not found in our local water.

We have been set up at a local park for the past week. The camp water is clean but has a metallic taste so we carried water from home for drinking and coffee. After attaching the filter, the metallic taste was completely gone and we now use the campground water for all drinking and cooking purposes.
