King pin stabilizer works well on my 38' Cedar Creek with airborne pin box. adjustment handles for threaded adjustment don't always stay out and can be cumbersom. I would also
like the threaded section to have another inch of adjustment.Otherwise they would be 5 star but a good investment overall.
I bought this for my husbands Birthday, December 2, 2012. We talked about it all summer after we bought our 5th wheeler.
We went to several campgrounds in Iowa and really enjoyed our first 5th wheeler very much. Only one problem, every
step we took would result in a slight wiggling motion, No King Pin Stabilizer. And on two different trips we had
significant wind that it was somewhat creepy. My husband went to a local lumber store and bought a 6x 6 square
piece of treated lumber, had them drill a hole in it big enough for our extra regular ball hitch to fit in- tightly.
Then he brought it back to the campground and hooked it up
to our 5th wheeler thinking it would add some measure of stability. I can say it helped a very small bit. So when we
got home I received one of your sales flyers with the Stabilizer in it on sale. I quickly sent off for the one we
got. He opened his Birthday gift thinking I must of got him some weights or something, the box was very heavy. Then he saw it and was so surprised and happy. We are heading to Alabama end of January from Iowa to get out of the bitter cold winters we have. He's already tried it out, has it set
for quick set up when we stop on our way down. We also bought a padlock and heavy chain for it, he put a heavy duty ring on it to run the chain through to keep it from disappearing if we go on bike rides, or into a local store
on our trips. It easily hooks up to the frame of our pickup for when we are parked somewhere. He painted the frame part so it matches our truck- Red. And he used a etching tool to
put our name and address on it as well. We are hoping none
of the identifying things ever need to be used but let's
face it it isn't the 50's anymore where you could leave your
car keys in the car unlocked in driveway.
Just got our first RV and this is one product We thought would be beneficial to have. We
were right, it really made a difference. We have the front living floor plan with five grand
babies hopping around and we noticed much less bounce/movement so yes, it helps to
stabilize . We also bought the extensions but have not used them yet. The only issue I have is the bottom plate on the legs, very, very sharp considering kids running around barefoot playing hide and seek after dark. We put leveling blocks under them to get the sharp corners up and less likely to be stepped on. Product does what it claims just one safety issue.
Very sturdy king pin stabilizer. Was supposed to come with a lock but it didn't (no big deal), but very happy with purchase. Only downside is that it is somewhat heavy, but again, no big deal.
Bought this to try and stabilize our 29' fifth wheel since it was always so unsteady without it even after adjusting
everyday during our camping trips. Used it and thisstabilizer met and exceeded our expectations! Fifth wheel
stays stable now!
Before I bought this product everytime I turned over in bed my trailer would shake. I believe having a slide out made it worse. When I used the stabilizer all the shaking stopped. Also it took off the stress from the landing grear that would sink into the ground after a few days. The lock keeps it from walking away when you are gone for the
day.
We recently purchased the Heavy Duty King Pin Stabilizer and it works great. It made a big difference in the vibrations
with movement within the camper. Even more like a our real home!! Already recommended it to someone at the camp
inquiring about what it does. Best purchase we made all year!!
I purchased this item in a local Camping World store about a year ago, when we
purchased our 2011 Montana 5th wheel. Previously, I wrote a review and only gave it 4 stars because the height could not be adjusted, and I would have to put levelling blocks under the pads. Well, lo and behold, while browsing the web site, I came across the leg extensions. I ordered them immediately, and now I am updating my review and giving it 5 stars!
This stabilizer is great. It works well, and is very easy to set up. However, I have to
agree with one of the other reviewers. I wish it had greater height adjustment. I almost
always have to put a stack of leveling blocks under each foot pad.
Take it out of the box, put the feet on with the included safety pins, stand it up, hook up the center chain, adjust the king pin holder, lower trailer front, DONE... Easy setup, and strong sturdy design!
This stablizer adjusts from 42 inches up to 50 inches. There are extensions for the legs to raise it another 8 inches if needed, item 64849.
