This is a good cover, unfortunately it is my second one. My camper has little downspouts that stick out. My first cover made it all Winter just fine, but in Spring we had some horrendous winds that made the downspouts poke through. In just two days, it caused a tear all along one side. I neglected to protect the cover from the downspout edges so it is my fault (the instructions mention this). My new cover is protected this year so I expect it to last. Yes, I liked it enough to buy another just like the first. Replacing it was easier than having it stitched up but that would have been an option. Extra reinforcement on the corners would have been helpful, too, but I am the one at fault. TIP: Swimming pool floaties cut easily with a hacksaw and will push right over the downspouts to eliminate the sharp point.
Pros: Easy installation, Good fit, Installation was a breeze, Looks nice
I was pleased that I was able to put this on my truck camper by myself with no help. Once I found the part labeled in big letters, Front, I was all set to go. I put the whole thing up on the roof using a 6' foot step ladder. Fortunately, the material is light-weight and the cover can be handled pretty easily when it's compact. The flip side of this is that ithe cover could tear pretty easily, so you best not go jerking on the thing if it gets caught.somewhere. Total tools were used were the step ladder I mentioned and the ladder attached to the back of the
camper. After I got the thing on, I went looking for the straps. They're adjustable. It should all go easier next time since I'll know what to expect. The fit is pretty good considering it's a generic cover. I'll have to wait and see how it fairs during the winter. I've only had it on for about 3 weeks...
This is the second Aquashed camper cover I have purchased and it keeps the camper clean and protected. Its biggest problem is that securing the cover around the overshot does not have enough securing points to prevent in from wipping in the wind, which causes it to tear in the corners. The first one was purchased in the fall of 2008 and I
was hoping it would last longer. All in all it does protect the camper from the sun and extreme weather. One additional area for reinforcement would be the area on the corners where the camper jacks are secured to the camper itself. Hopefully this might be useful in future designs.
