Perfect with griddle too!

I bought this little HEAVY grill for our camper. Used this weekend for grilling 18 hamburgers. Great taste with perfect marks. Comments were made about the burgers and are still being made. I purchased the griddle on the way to myrtle beach this week. What a great addition! Made pancakes, sausage, eggs and bacon. What a flavor! I can see why it took 5 years to get it perfect. These are worth the money! I was holding back and was buying cheap models and was replacing every camping trip. When I received this little package, I knew when I picked up the box I made the right decision. I'm looking to purchase the 210 Spirit series. Cooking tips: 1) Let the grill warm up and then cook on LOW! Medium may be used in higher wind conditions. 2) Empty Ketchup bottles are great for taking pancake mix out to the grill. It is very easy to spread over the griddle and keeps the critters out of the unused mix. I read this in camping tips somewhere and tried it. Works wonderful! 3) Do not let these cast iron units air dry! Dry them quickly after washing. All I can say is GO WEBER! Love it!

The size is great for two people. Heats up fast. Everything cooks well on it. It's easy to clean and it cools down fast. Easy storage, we just store ours in a plastic container with all grilling tools and 2 propane canisters. That way it's easy to get out and easy to put away in the outside bin.

This particular bbq was recommended by a friend. The only drawback to this bbq is the small btu (8500). Takes longer to cook food. Other than that, I would recommend this Weber highly. Stores nicely in under seat area. Cleans easily.

I found this Weber barbeque to be outstanding. One thing it did that my old gas barbeque was cooking the food evenly. You did not have to cook on one side because it was hotter. It fits perfectly in the storage compartments under the coach, and cleans up nicely. I would highly reccomend this product.

Weber 100

Got one recently after looking carefully at every grill Camping World has in their stores & online for almost a year. Have had Coleman grill only for 3 years after many years of good grilling with the burner/grill combo. The grill surface warped badly soon after we got it. Their grill only is terrible and they still have not fixed it in the new models. Off course I was 100's of miles from a store to return it. The Weber cast iron is perfect. Heavy, but much better than the cheap, thin, chrome ones most grills have. It is easy to separate parts, i.e., take the top off to store in hold of our 5h wheel (of course it's full of stuff). It's size is great for the 2 of us. I use a large portable fireplace grill to grill for large groups and use charcoal for that. It's also much easier to clean grill surface than the lousy Coleman one. Use olive oil on it each time you grill and it cleans up nice. We are full time so a good grill is a must. Happy grilling!!!

My Q gets an A+

This little BBQ has proven to be a fantastic choice. It took about 5 minutes to fully assemble it and we were ready to go. We use it when camping and keep it in our travel trailer to use anytime we are on the road. I believe this unit has all the fire power you'll ever need to cook anything that will fit on the grill. Clean up is a snap by using some aluminum foil to make a temporary catch pan that is placed inside the factory pan and when the time is right, simply dispose of the foil and you've got a nice clean pan for time. Being strong, yet light weight means there is never any hesitation to grab it and start cooking. There is nothing I can say about this little Q this is not positive. When we found it on sale at Camping World, including free delivery, that clearly made it the very best deal we could find any place. If you are wanting a smaller and very convenient BBQ for a fair price, don't hesitate to grab yourself a Q and then you can give it an A+ yourself.

Weber quality shines through with this one! We have had Weber products in our home for a long time. We chose this grill because of Weber's quality and service. We used it for the first time on our last camping adventure and were very pleased with the performance of the grill and the taste of the food. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants quality and performance.

I've owned 2 over the past seven years. I used the first one as my home grille and the other as the RV grille. Both have an even cooking surface so hot spots aren't a problem. For me it's the perfect size for grilling meat and vegetables at the same time and is easy to stow away after use and for travel.

We've been using ours for almost a year now an our only complaint is that when its cold outside, it just takes a lot longer to cook anything. It stows away easily in our 5'er and can be setup and ready to cook in seconds.

Have had this grill for about 4 years and love it. In fact my husband uses it more than I do and guess what? He even cleans it after use and he does not bring it home for me to clean. The other review stated no place for drippings to go. There is a place under the grill to fit the webber tin plates that you can purchase at any place that carries webber supplies. Other have liked ours and also have switched to the baby webber gas grill.

Great grill

April 27, 2009
When I saw this grill on sale my wife said, "Not another grill!" I have bought 3 or 4 trying to get one that performed properly. But with the Weber reputation & the sale price, I bought it anyway. Great choice! We have just returned from a 9-day camping trip. This grill is great! I was concerned about it being only 8500 btu. But that is not a problem. Heats quickly, cooks evenly, cleans up easily ... what more can I say. This is now the only grill I'll take with me. The heavy cast iron grate does not stick & cleans up with just a brush. In fact, you should never use soap on cast iron. If in the market for a great grill, spend the extra money & buy this one. You won't regret it. P.S. If anybody wants to buy a cheaper grill, I have 3 or 4 for sale :-)

Awesome grill!!

This is one awesome grill. I have had a lot of grills, both gas and charcoal. This weber is a smart design starting with the grate. Thick so it heats up and does not cool down as soon as you throw the meat to it and cooks even. The burner is stainless steel and u shaped. The grill is easy to clean, doesn't make a mess, and is compact to take on the road. Yes its over a hundred dollars, but like they say you get what you pay for. This one is worth it. I LOVE THIS GRILL. Steaks, burgers, chicken or fish, follow the manufacturers suggestions and the food turns out great.

Best I ever used...

I don't usually write rave reviews about a BBQ?? but in my 16 years of RV-ing, I've tried 4 or 5 of 'em; this is just an amazing and quite portable grill. I've used it for 6 weeks now, and it cooks very quickly, with surprising uniformity. It does not flare up - even, for example, with fatty lamb chops - and the finished product is juicy (if it was juicy when you started, of course) and crispy outside, but just right inside. It is easy to clean, handy to store, and although somewhat pricey, it's definitely worth the money, if you like to cook outdoors. I have a 4-foot propane hose with the proper connection for both an aux tank, and for the BBQ's connection, so I don't have to mess with the expensive green cylinders. And that hose is widely available, in a number of lengths; just be sure that the one you might buy, is a proper fit with the female connection on the grill. In short - I was astonished at how well this little grill works, and it has enough space easily to cook for two, and maybe more, depending upon the size of your party.,,, You will be amazed at how quickly your dinner is ready!!

This grill is The Boss!

We purchased the Baby Q a few weeks ago and it is one of the best investments we've made! Another review mentioned the drip pan - it REALLY DOES catch the mess! And, it's easy to dump. The grill cooks evenly all the way around and we did 4 New York Strips on it last week - they all fit and there was room for a couple more! We also discovered that the Baby Q is WONDERFUL for cooking up bacon - we tried it for the fun of it and were totally amazed. The bacon fried up crisp - the grease dripped to the pan - and it had a tasty flavor. The best part is that the trailer stove didn't need to be used (and the smoke alarm wasn't set off - haha!) We highly recommend this grill - try cutting up potatoes, placing them in foil with pats of butter, chopped onions & green peppers, salt & pepper - fold and squeeze the foil ends tight and place on grill - turning about every 5 minutes or so. The potatoes will steam and cook in about 1/2 hour - use the leftovers for breakfast. Buy this grill! You'll be glad you did!

This is by far the best controlled portable grill I have ever used. We are full time RVers and space is a premium, but storage is not a problem. This grill is easily cleaned and the grease trap actually works. The cooking surface is easily maintained as well. The regulated control actually controls the burner and flare ups are minimal. I am excited about grilling again.

I bought my Baby Q last fall before our winter trip. I have used it now for three months and I am completely satisfied. I have not tried to use the 20 lb. bottle and adapter as a previous reviewer did, but I did get a device that allows me to fill the small bottles from the bottles on the 5th wheel. I keep several of the 1 lb. bottles available just in case. However, I have found that a small bottle will do quite a few meals. The grill works well on everything I have cooked. We have had guests on several occasions and the grill cooked four huge steaks to perfection. It is easy to stow and carry in the available case, which keeps the basement clean. I will be using this grill at home.

HEAT ISSUES WITH BIG TANK

183 out of 330 people found this review helpful.
January 21, 2008
I love the Baby Q and in many ways it is better than my big Weber and is definitely better than any cheaper small grills I've used... The problem I have had is it won't heat up properly when I use a 20 lb bottle and the Weber hose adapter. I don't like the small bottles since they burn up too fast and if I can't figure out why the big bottle won't work I will get rid of it. The only reference to gas in the manual is to use 14.1oz bottles, so there must be an issue, but Weber certainly sells the hoses for it.

Best Portable Grill Going

July 29, 2007
I did much research before buying a small grill that I could keep in my trailer. Most portables are very flimsy and few will cook with the lid down. I am impressed at how even it cooks - better than my large Weber. I was afraid that the 8500 BTU burner would not provide enough heat, but it has plenty for this size of grill. I do most grilling on medium heat with it. I am glad that I didn't go with a cheaper grill. I know I would have been disappointed.

One Great Little Grill

I recently purchased this grill based on the reviews. As the reviews indicate, this is one great little grill. Used with an adaptor hose and a 20 lb propane tank, you do not have to deal with the 14 oz. propane cylinders or running out of gas. Cleanup is a breeze. There are no hot spots or flare ups and the push button ignition is a nice touch. I also purchased the vinyl cover which I would recommend.

My family have used portable grills made by many manufactorers and have never experienced the satisfaction we've had with the Baby Q. From the first time we used it we have had nothing but raves over the ease of use, taste of the food and most important (to me) the minimal clean up effort. The single cast iron grate provides good distribution of heat and the drip pan under the unit makes it very easy to contain residue and disposal. Although it is a compact unit, the grill can accomidate six to eight good size steaks or up to 10 hamburgers. Flame-ups are non existant and heating the grill up first will provide excellant searing. I also purchased a 5 lbs. propane cylinder and hose from our local Camping World store because the small support ring does not work with a standard 1 lbs. portable cylinder. This was the only down side to the grill but not bad enought to detract from the unit. Bottom line is, buy it, fire it up and enjoy the best grill you may ever own.

I've had mine for 3 years and it still looks like new. Typical Weber product - cooks like a dream and very easy to clean up. The key to success is the mandatory pre-heating of the heavy cast iron grill for 10 minutes before cooking. If you don't do this, you will probably complain that the grill doesn't get hot enough. You will NOT be disappointed.

Best Portable Gas Grill I have ever used. I have used mine for apr. one year and have been completely satisfied. I even bought the accessery hose to conect to a 20 lb. gas cylinder. I also found that I could use the small short cylinders by removing the ring used for the small longer cylinders. Camping World has a 5 lb. gas cylinder that is just perfect for this grill and it is refillable just like the 20 lb. cylinder.

This grill works very good. I use the 20 Lb Propane adapter gas hose , but have used the short stubby bropane cylender by removing the holder drsigned for the long cylender. Grill works very good either way. You do have to be careful and not turn the burner up too high and burn what you are cooking.

Best Portable Ever Made

Instead of wasting heat trying to get vaporizer plates or lava rock hot, Weber engineers created a heavy cast iron grill and applied the heat directly to the underside of the grill. Brilliant! Hot even heat in no time; sears & cooks better than any gas grill I have ever owned - and I've had them all. Preheat on high for 5 minutes; turn down to 2 or 3 and away you go. Grease & mess slide down the body into a drip pan - just scrape the inside clean with a spatula or wooden spoon when cool - fantastic. Thank you Weber!

OK, I've tried the Cobb. I've tried the Holland. This is the best one so far for a small, portable BBQ unit for the RV. It has Weber quality throughout and does a good job of heating up quickly and cooking nicely. I still prefer the taste of food BBQed over briquettes, but that creates a clean-up hassle in nice motor home parks, sometimes. This one is a snap to use and to clean-up. Perfect for use while on-the-road different nightly stops. I also carry a very small Weber, I think they call it the "Lil Smoker". It is good for briquette BBQing when I can dump the ashes conveniently. I am now covered - BBQ-wise!

I used the baby Q for the first time memorial day weekend and can report it is right on the mark for a small high quality travel grill. It heats up fast, has lots of power(cooks fast), and enough room to cook for a family of four. The 14.1oz gas cylander(look for them in the welding supplies area at hardware store) lasted 5 sessions and clean up is a breeze. I give this product a big thumbs up!

I have four kids and this little grill has proved to be just the right size. It fits in the storage compartment of the RV perfectly without taking up too much room and it has been more than large enough to cook steaks or hamburgers for the six of us plus a guest or two. It actually cooks the food better than the full size grill that I have at home. I have a 20 foot hose hooked to my lp tanks that allows me to hook right into my 5ver gas supply to do the cooking.
