We bought two of these and used them on a recent trip to Mount Rushmore. We had been using the small hand held models that always seemed to have battery issues. These were very good with improved range and clarity on transmissions. I would recommend it.

We used it during a Caravan trip to Mexico. With the Magnetic roof antenna it's range was adequate to stay in touch with the wagon master and tailgunner. As a handheld it was great as a communication device in campgrounds and other locations, particularly in areas where cell service was non existent.
