Makes me independent

I bought myself a small trailer (Scamp) and a Subaru Forester a few years after my husband died. I needed something to help me travel solo, and this hitch ball finder is perfect. It lines right up with my rear view mirror and I can back up and hitch alone. This is actually my second one, as my first got cracked (my fault) and I figured it was easier to replace than fix. A great tool for solo travelers!

Too Short and Too Small a Viewing Field

This Hitch Ball Finder is only barely just usable. The pole is too short. The mirror is convex and too small. This means that the view in the mirror is too small to really see what you are doing. It's a shame that the old HitchSpotter is NLA. It worked well!

What a Great Help!

After years of blindly trying to connect my truck to my trailer I couldn't wait to try this product. The mirror easily attached to my trailer hitch and telescoped to the correct height for me to easily see to backup safely and hookup. My only complaint is that the mirror is a little small and you can't see your trailer hitch until your pretty close. All in all however a great help for those of us who don't have a spotter when we are hooking up to our trailer.

This could really save your marriage. No more getting irritated with the wife trying to help back me up (incorrectly and frustratingly). Best $25 ive ever spent!

Mirror could be larger

The mirror worked well enough to get me hitched. However, I wish the mirror was wider to see more of my hitch. I also wish the mirror arm could be flipped over left to right. It would sit better on the tongue of my trailer.

Well built and easy to use. Line up first time, every time. My only question is, why didn't I buy one of these 20 years ago?

Very Useful!

OK, so I bought this for my husband so he would quit getting mad at me because I wasn't directing him to back-up the way that suited him. Now, he uses it every time and doesn't bother me to help him. I am so glad! You do have to remember that the mirror is glass, however, and be careful with the mirrored end. The magnetic end is quite powerful enough to stay put while you back up. Recently when we sold our trailer my husband recommended he get one so I suppose he likes it.

hitch mirror

I bought this item about 3 months ago and have used it many times. The key is to get it positioned correctly on your trailer tongue and to have the mirror at the correct height and angle. I used a sharpie to mark the best location on the tongue, and then marked the telescoping tube at the correct height. This made it easy to use the mirror later. Once you have these down, it works like a charm. I would highly recommend this mirror for persons who may not have a second person to help. I would have given it 5 stars had the directions been more like what I wrote above, but alas, they left me to figure it out on my own.

Simple, easy to use. Let's you hook up on the first try every time without needing assistance from another person. I've had people stare in amazement and come over and ask me how I hooked up without looking (they didn't see the mirror)! The second question they ask is "Where can I get one?".

Nifty Gadget...

I am a married mother of two that has had the passion for camping instilled in me since I was four months old. Part of learning to drive as a teen was backing a trailer. I'm actually very good at it but it's really annoying when you have to hitch it up yourself. My hubby is not really a camper so I'm often times flying solo with both kids in the tow vehicle waiting for me. I'm in and out of the car to make sure I have the ball in the right place for my trailer to sit just right. This mirror makes it much less painful to accomplish. Often times I have people offer to help me and I love being able to say, nope, I'm ok. When they see the mirror and realize how it works, I eagerly let them know that Camping World is where to find it. Thanks for finding the gadgets that make going on weekend trips, so much easier! :)

What a great decision to purchase this product. Unfortunately my mirror cracked in the middle, but it still works (just not as well). Is better to use this as a device instead of having to get out and look all the time. Highly recommend

Outstanding tool for hitching!

I'm brand new at RV'ing, but wife had done it with her folks. On my shakedown trip last week, it took quite a few tries with my wife guiding me just to get the ball under the hitch. A few days into the trip (which was at a state park close to home), the hitch mirror came. When it came time to hitch up, this time it only took me 3 tries to get the ball under the hitch. HUGE improvement over hand signals and yelling! I only gave it 4 stars though because I think it should be a little more parabolic (curved) and more adjustable. On our hitch, I have to have it as far as possible back on toward the LP tanks and at an angle leaning on a bolt at the bottom and the jack handle toward the top. But once it's adjusted right to see the hitch, then backing under the hitch couldn't be simpler. Definitely a must-have for TT owners!

Fantastic Product!!

This is just a great product at a reasonable price. It has a good strong magnet that holds it firmly in place. The mirror, so far, has held just fine. (Some of the similar products can’t say that) I was easily able to hook-up my travel trailer all by myself using this. If I can use it easily – anyone can! Well worth the $20.00 it cost. It also works great so the driver can see – even with someone else helping you hook- up – where you are in relation to the receiver. Definitely recommend product!!
