This product is the best thought-out design I've seen and the price is fair.

I purchased this plug to replace the horrible unit that I had. I used to have one of those round bakelite plugs and it was JUNK. The center screw socket broke and there was just no room inside to work with it. This unit has a LOT of room inside which makes it easy to wire up. The instructions were well written and the color coded screws made it a breeze. It would be worth the money to upgrade to this unit. If you need to replace your plug don't buy one of the small black bakelite units.

Very straight forward installation instructions Not for marine use as the plug head is not water proof, but I believe it will withstand rain/wetness - just not submersion.

This is an easy plug end to wire. Diections are accurate. It does not fit into the hole on the side of a travel trailer. I had to cut the handle off to make it fit.

30 AMP male/female plugs

This product has the most clear, concise instructions I have ever found with any product - bar none. A complete electrical novice could install either the male or female plug. I installed both plugs in relatively short time. When finished, the job looked very professional. If you have to replace plugs, I highly recommend this product. Worth every penny!

I had one of the ends on my 50’ 30 amp extension cord go bad last week while visiting my daughter’s home. The cord was an older cord with the 20 amp “style” ends on it so I replaced both the male and female ends with the 30 amp Power Grip ends. Being in a bind I had to purchase the Power Grip replacement ends at a local RV dealer instead of from Camping World. Installation was a breeze, the strain relief is snug and secure and I was very impressed with the quality, as in the past I’ve encountered the same problem with other brands of replacement ends as Catherine Soldan as stated in her review. The blades, when assembled correctly are the same length as the ones on the factory cord on the coach so this should not be a factor in overheating as Mark Klein had stated in his review. If there is an overheating problem with the cord check the circuit for correct voltage and amperage. Trying to draw 30 amps through a 15 or 20 amp circuit or a circuit with a low voltage situation can cause the plugs on the cord to heat up prior to tripping the circuit breaker.

pros: handle is REAL nice when traveling for plug/unplug frequently yellow is easy to see, and it is VERY easy to replace plug with this one. This may seem simple and is with THIS one,but somehow others position the few parts in such a way as to make it difficult. Also some of the others have plastic housing so brittle that it tends to break in the installing process. This one will not. con: only 1 and that is that it will eventually wear out due to frequent use. The plastic near the prongs becomes brittle from heat .Keep in mind that we full time 365 days a year.
