I purchased this anode since my heater didn't have one originally,and I wanted to help protect the tank from corrosion.It installed fairly easily,with the right tools and comes with a drain valve for winterizing.The magnesium will help with electrolsis since the tank is aluminum.Should help to prolong tank life and good operation.
