Added to end of kitchen counter and allows use of only outlet in kitchen with crockpot, etc. without extension cord. Had to add 1x2 bracing behind the cubbard (screw & glue to my 1x1 studs). Was able to make shelf even with counter making the area more usable, larger and it was the width of the counter making it bigger then the pre-fab units. Brackets fold up and down easily, nothing too complicated to the brackets and again love being able to have shelf any size I want and they seem to be able to hold quite a bit of wt..
