Mixed Feelings

On a positive note, this is a more sturdy product than the factory installed jack. Having bent a jack on the rear of my trailer, I needed a direct replacement. Because the original mounting brackets were welded to the frame of the trailer, it was necessary to unbolt the old jack from the sides of the upper mounting bracket. No real problem removing the original long bolts. But, being a heavier duty jack, the new one had larger connecting bolts. So, I had to enlarge the holes in the old mounting brackets to accommodate the new jack bolts. No big deal, but did require some hammer work to beat the new one into alignment for the bolts to be inserted. At this point I would have been pleased, however I had a big surprise when trying to use the jack. It works backwards! My other jacks lower by rotating the jack screw clockwise. The new jack lowers by turning the jack screw counterclockwise. I know these things were probably made in China and it was just my luck of the draw to get one made by a left-handed Chinaman. I contacted Ultra-Fab and they explained that they had made an engineering change in order to produce a better product. His reasons made sense and I agree they have a very well designed jack. However, he also said "when these were made they got the right and left threads reversed. So we left it this way. The only way to make it turn the other direction would be to cut the end of the threaded rod off and weld it onto the opposite end of the rod." I'm not sure I want to do this. I wish i could give it a five star rating but working backwards is a nuisance. And now I have to retrain one wife and three Grandchildren when they help set up our trailer.
Pros: Solid, Stops camper shifting when walking inside
Cons: Will Not Fit Rear Of Camper

We had to replace a jack on our RV. After contacting the manufacturer, he sent us this Ultra-fab jack. It is much sturdier than the original one and installation was a breeze. We just ordered another one from Camping World. This company seems to have anything and everything a camper could need at an affordable price as well.

Replacement scissor jack

I wrote a review yesterday about the scissor jack we purchased from you on October 10. We used the jack one time and the next time we were going to use it, we noticed that the pin and nut were missing. They fell off somewhere during a trip to have warranty work done on our RV. We spoke to another of your customer service representatives today who was very, very helpful and professional. A new replacement jack is being sent to us. We thank you so much for your great customer service and look forward to purchasing RV products from you in the future. The reps name was Kathryn or Catherine. She is to be commended for her excellent customer service.

Oops! Didn't raise up the jack high enough and it got bent....bad. Quick shipping (as always) and easy installation. The holes matched perfectly, so the only tool required is a 5/16 socket. The reason this didn't get 5 stars is the jack bolt. On the original jack it appeared to be one solid screw - this one appears to be pressed on, not a solid piece.
