This Tripmaker does everthing it it say's, but must agree w/other reviews should include Goodsam RV/Camping locations, including county run campgrounds. For many State Parks/County Campgrounds it will take you there if you know the address, but will not find in POI. Have not had a problem viewing and enjoy the split map/turn by turn directions, speed control monitor, ability to reduce voulmn. Save your money on the sun shield, ackward to install, especially with windshield and stilas in the way, will not slide over unit easily, especially if you remove unit when parked or for easier location input. Over all happy with unit operation and would recommend to others.

This unit is much easier to use than the unit built into my 2011 car. We used it on a trip from Michigan to California and the mile marker, speed posting and altitude were not just accurate they make the trip more fun with less worry. The ability to give feedback is great as we did note one routing glitch. The voice is clear and easy to understand so you can keep your eyes on the road. The lane directions at freeway/highway splits is very easy to see at a glance. We used the campground locator function with ease. In all the RVND 7710 made the trip easy and safe for us new to the RV lifestyle travelers.

We love having a GPS just for RV's. We don't have to worry about narrow roads, low bridges etc. All of the alerts you can set are so helpful too! Best GPS around, would recommend to all RV owners.

I basically like the unit. It is way better than my old GPS. However, I still have to watch and make sure that the roads it tries to send me on are acceptable. In the mountains of East Central AL it tried to send me on a narrow, dirt road. I have a 5th wheel total 54', 25000#, 12' tall.So just be warned.

    Bit of Adjustment

The screen is large enough. The maps are current and include roads are now dead ends and one way. Do miss the camera alerts that the Tom Tom had. Am still adjusting to locating destinations that should be a little easier to find. It is probably just an adjustment period that will easier to navigate through as the product is used more.

    My second TripMaker

I purchased the 5 inch TripMaker when they were originally released and have been across the US and western Canada using it. When the 7 inch model with lifetime map upgrades came along, I purchased it and now use the 5 inch version in our tow car. We are quite pleased with both units, but as is noted elsewhere---read and understand the manual first and set the restrictions so as not to be led into embarrassing situations. Be sure to connect it to your computer for upgrades every couple of weeks.

GPS is the same as any other tool or device. It is important to understand correct use.! First thing to know and understand is the operator manual, specifically programming. Unless correctly programmed the GPS will lead you into embarrassing and even dangerous situations. Negative comments are usually created by those not using the device correctly. If you just turn it on and follow the voice you are apt to wind up on a wrong road, or off a road, or in someone's yard. Voice of experience, hmmm? GPS is a wonderful tool, but it must, as all tools, be used correctly.

This is my 2nd gps. Easy to use, love the large display. The sped limit warnings save me. My only recommendation for improvement would be to include more campground information. I could not find any information on New York State campgrounds in the Adirondack Park. Overall I am very satisified with the unit and I would purchase it again.

Overall this is the best GPS unit I have seen or used. I recently completed a 4500 mile trip with various destinations, while pulling a 13.5' high 39' long 5th wheel with a GCW of 19000 lbs. The unit never once tried to take me on a route that I could not legally or practically use. I also took it on another trip that I knew there was only one legal and practical way to go pulling the trailer. It directed to that route, not either of the other two routes going there, unlike another GPS I once used. I like that it allows you to configure the type of vehicle, weight, height and how much propane it carrys, so it can determine the best route. As with other GPS units, someof the directions can be a little confusing sometimes, so it is a good idea to still watch the signs as you navigate. Other than that I am very pleased with the unit and I highly recomend it.
