PUMICE FLAT GROUP CAMP (CA), CA

The campground is located in the eastern Sierra, west of Mammoth Lakes a full service community. It is in a lodgepole pine forest near trailheads to the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area, Pacific Crest and John Muir Trails. Popular activities include fishing, in the 2 lakes and the North Fork of the San Joaquin River, hiking, photography, horseback riding, geology study and Devils Postpile. Red's Meadow Pack Station is located about 2.5 miles at the end of Red's Meadow Road with a small general store, cafe and the trail to Rainbow Falls.

Getting there

From Hwy. 395, take Hwy. 203 west through the town of Mammoth Lakes , past Mammoth Mt. ski area to Minaret Vista. Continue on Reds Meadow Road to the Agnew Meadows turnoff, about 2.5 miles.
