NORTH OVERLOOK CAMP (IA), IA

North Overlook Campground is located on Lake Red Rock, Iowa's largest lake. Just 10 minutes from Pella, known for its Dutch heritage and 15 minutes from Knoxville, Sprintcar Capital of the World. North Overlook Campground is perfect for campers with smaller units, providing well shaded sites and easy access to North Overlook Beach and a 13 mile paved hiking/biking trail. Campground programs are given at the amphitheater on weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day. White pelicans migrate through the lake area every spring and fall. Large numbers of bald eagles are observed during winter months (Nov- Mar). The area is an hour's drive from Des Moines, Iowa's capital, which has shopping malls, museums, zoo and many other attractions.
