Beartown State Forest, MA
Beartown State Forest's twelve campsites offer limited amenities (no showers or flush toilets) but the campground is very popular for campers seeking a smaller scale campground with great opportunities for swimming and hiking. The wooded sites are tucked into a gentle slope leading to 35-acre Benedict Pond. A few sites are right on the pond shoreline. Extensive networks of trails, including the famous Appalachian Trail offer visitors a chance to explore the nearly 11,000 acre forest.
