BLACK CANYON (NM), NM

Located seven miles northeast of the town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Campground is situated in a mixed conifer pine and fir forest. There is a good mix of sun and shade.Restrooms are provided. The rainy season is July/August. Temperatures often coolconsiderably in the evenings. The highway to the campground is paved. Campground is adjacent to a New Mexico State Park where .There is a pay phone in the campground. Pecos Wilderness Trailhead is 8 miles away,as well as, several other hiking trails. There are no showers or electricity. Some first come, first serve sites may be available.

Getting there

From downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, travel north on Washington Avenue to Artist Road (aka Hyde Park Road, SR 475) and turn right. Follow it for 7 miles to Black Canyon Campground on the right.
