Lake Brownwood State Park, TX

Entrance fee: $3 per day, per person 13 and older. $2 per day, per person Texas residents 65 on 9/1/95 or after. Entrance fees are in addition to campsite or day use facility fees. An excess vehicle fee will be charged for all vehicles over the limit of 2 per site.

From Austin: HWY 183 north to Brownwood. Take Hwy 279 North for 15 miles. Turn right on Park Road 15 for 6 miles to Park Headquarters. From Brownwood: Take Hwy 279 North for 15 miles. Turn right on Park Road 15 for 6 miles to Park Headquarters. From Dallas: Take I 30 West to Hwy 377. Take Hwy 377 South to Brownwood. Take Hwy 279 North 15 miles. Turn right on Park Road 15 for 6 miles to Park Headquarters. OR; Take I 20 West to HWY 206, go south to Cross Plains, take HWY 279 south for 18 miles. Go left on Park Rd 15. From Abilene: Take Hwy 36 East to Cross Plains. Take Hwy 279 South for 18 miles. Turn left on Park Road 15 for 6 miles to Park Headquarters.
