This versatile three-speed, reversible 12-volt fan fits standard 14" x 14" openings and uses 3 amps on high.
Wow! Not only are these great fan assemblies; but the customer service provided by Fan-Tastic is almost beyond belief! I had insta...lled two of their units several years ago in our prior coach. Based on the performance of those fans, I recently purchased two more to retrofit into our latest coach. Upon experienceing some issues with the new units, I contacted the factory - - Fan-Tastic absolutely insisted on being allowed to correct what was an error on my part - - without any charge whatsoever! Some really, really nice folks.
After 6 years I finally had trouble with the quietest and best RV fan on the market. One phone call to their customer service con...vinced me that no one should ever buy a competitive product. Admitting they may have had trouble with the plastic housing the year I got my fan, they sent me all the parts in time for my next trip - N/C.
This superb service started the minute the receptionist answered the phone. I would highly recommend the product and the company!
I have had an Automatic Deluxe Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan intalled in my 2002 5th wheel since new. The fan has performed well and the... thermostat and rain sensor have worked as advertised. The fan is in the rear (living / kitchen) area. I have had no breakage issues with this fan, however, I am not a full timer, so I do not subject it to extreme usage.
I have a standard OEM fan in the bath / bdrm area. It has been very troublesome and I will be replacing it with a Fan-Tastic Fan w/thermostat. Since that fan will vent the shower area, I do not want the fan shutting down from condensation when the shower is in use, so will forgo the rain sensor on that fan.
I own a 1997 motorhome and the housing of my Fan-Tastic ceiling vent warped, causing the fan to rub on the housing. It was over 1...0 years past warranty. I called to purchase repair parts and they sent me all of the parts to repair it, with diagram, UPS, no charge. I will never buy a fan
from another company. Buy the best, and you only have to cry once.
Installed in no time. Hardest part was getting the old one out. Wiring simple and easy.
Could not wire in my remote switch witho...ut major surgery on the fan. Decided to live
without it as cutting the internal wiring would void the warranty. Found out later in a
phone call to Fantastic Fan that I could have ordered a fan prewired for the remote
switch. Next time. The first Fantastic fan lasted oveer 10 years, so it will be awhile
before I can do that.
Have had 2 other Fan-Tastic fans in 2 other trailers and they worked VERY well but were manual with the thermostat but new trailer... vent over bed in awkward place so decided on the automatic with remote. Best decision I've made on acces. for this 5th wheel. Goes off
and closes when temp drops, rain gauge a little touchy but errs on the side of dryness and this is over the bed. Probably will put MaxxAire over it soon.
I had a ShurFlo Platinum w/remote in our previous 5th wheel. Purchased this Fantastic Fan 6 weeks ago ago for new 5th wheel as I h...eard lots about how good it was. I am disappointed in that the fan direction can not be reversed from the remote as the ShurFlo can. A pain when installed in a tall ceiling. The auto feature is clumsy due to not being able to control fan speed as you can w/ShurFlo. Very loud in normal auto
operation. I am actually taking this one out, replacing w/ShurFlo and eating the loss.
Installed two weeks ago to replace older vent/fan. Took more time to remove old ceilent than properly install new fan. A couple of... tips , use large replaceable blade scraper (home depot has a good selection) and have puddy form-a-gasket in advance(home depot again, sink drain puddy works great) the fan did not come with a gasket and puddy is better anyway.if in a very windy area install shroud also. fan works great and is
quiet. Will be adding another shortly over shower.Cheers
Wow! I installed this very easily over the old crank vent. It fit perfectly. I love everything about it, the quality
engineerin...g, tinted dome, 3-speed adjustments, airflow direction option, but best of all is the automatic rain
sensor. Once you hear the rain start, a couple of seconds later that dome will bring itself down, ensuring that the
internal electronics and your camper are protected. Once the sensor dries, it will automatically lift itself back up
and start cooling again. I would definitely recommend spending the extra few bucks to get the one with the rain
Worked perfectly, easy installation, nice and quiet. I did use extra butyl putty around the outside to make sure the seal was tigh...t. This was not included, but I think some type of extra sealer is needed.
Existing vent was a bugger to remove! Factory used so much caulking / sealant that is was a pain to get out. Fan-Tastic directions... said remove & clean old caulking - easier
said than done! Plan for plenty of time and patience to remove the old vent and caulking /
sealant. Once the prep was complete the new Fan-Tastic Fan installed nicely into the existing opening. When measuring to cut down the new interior plastic flashing take care as the wiring is only about an inch above so dont force the flashing up into the opening for a measurement as the wiring will be cut. (They don't mention anything about this in the install
directions) As others have noted be sure to have plenty of caulking / sealant on hand as none will come with the new unit. Once installed the new Fan-Tastic looks very nice and functions great. Good addition to a camper for boondocking where A/C or 110 power is not
available.Great price, shipping &service from Camping World!
Fan works great. Quiet & moves much more air (like 10 times as much). But
here's the kicker : When I backed out of the garag...e with the vent open, I called to buy new
parts. It was a mess. Past warrantee + my fault = Big bucks, right? You'll never spend
another dollar on this fan. We cover our fans for LIFE, no matter your fault or not. Not even
for shipping. They sent everything fast, with a smile (you could tell)……..NO CHARGE.
You must not even consider a different fan or company! If you don't like this fan/company,
I'll buy it from you at full price (the fan not the company). Have YOU ever made an offer like
this one? I've never felt so taken care of by a company before.
The hardest part was removing the old one, the new Fantastic fan went in smoothly
and wired up great. The function is better tha...n advertised. It kept the trailer much
cooler and kept the air moving around making it comfortable and would shut off as set.
Have even thought about adding a second one. Highly recommeded.
We have a 1987 Avion 34W. Previous owner installed an Automatic Deluxe Fan in the front of the trailer. It is a great fan, works w...ell. I would recommend this fan to anyone. There are two more original vent fans in the trailer. I will be replacing both of those ASAP with Fan-Tastic Fans.
Pros: Power , Features , Quiet operation, Circulates air well
The lid is Smoke while the rest of the assembly, including the interior garnish, is Polar White.

I am considering putting this on my truck topper.

What is the minimum thickness of the roof for this unit. If I mount this on my truck topper (cap)
I might add strip of wood around the hole on the inside to accommodate the vent fan. I would like to know minimum thickness of the roof.
Use this to keep my dogs cool when they are in the truck bed with the toper.
You can wire a wall switch to this fan vent, but all it will do is operate as a master switch for power. If you want specific controls operated from a wall switch, you will want to contact your RV manufacturer or an authorized dealer for your RV. Fantastic manufactures their vents as 'Retail' models, what Camping World carries, and also 'OEM' models, what is given to RV manufacturers. Most of the 'OEM' models are capable of being controlled from a wall switch. We are unable to order 'OEM' style Fan-tastic vents.

We do not host any wiring diagrams to answer your question. You will need to contact the manufacturer or authorized dealership to obtain an answer without disassembling your vent and performing an inspection.

The product description says that this model has "automatic opening". I'm not sure what that means. Does it mean when your manually turn the unit on, the cover opens automatically or it somehow automatically opens and then you can turn it on?
There is a switch to open and close the lid instead of having to turn the knob to open/close the unit, though a manual crank knob is still installed to the vent. Fantastic Vents are designed with a lockout system that will not allow for the fan to be turned on without the lid being raised at least 3 inches. This vent also has an included rain sensor that takes advantage of the powered lift system so the vent will automatically closed if it begins to rain.
