Campground's light display aims to spread holiday cheer

A Wisconsin family that owns a Jellystone Park campground has erected a drive-through light display they're calling the Wisconsin Christmas Carnival of Lights.

The Isaacson family spent about five weeks creating the display, which spans about one mile and consists of more than 1 million lights. They say they were inspired by memories of driving around to see holiday light displays when they were children.

"It was a lot of long days from morning to night getting it all together," Isaacson daughter and General Manager Bridget Bender told the Journal Times newspaper. "It was a neat experience, and easy to be excited about. We know how cool it was to us as kids. That's what made it possible. You could see the progress and knew how cool it was going to be for other kids to see."

The display in Caledonia, Wisconsin, is opened every day except Christmas until January 3rd from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. during the week and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Admission for cars is $10 each and vans, buses or RVs with more than eight passengers get in for $18.
