The company was originally developed by Lloyd Bontrager, who wanted to develop a business that treated its customers like family.

Jayco had only 15 employees when it started. Today, the company has a staff of more than 1,600 and works with approximately 25,000 consumers across the country annually. Jayco also prides itself on being one of the most environmentally-friendly RV manufacturers in the industry. Unlike other companies, Jayco uses renewable energy to develop its vehicles and includes environmentally-friendly fixtures in its RVs.
