Figuring out what's at "stake" during a camping trip

Stakes are a critical part of any outdoor adventure, whether it is a tent camping trip or an RV outing to a public campground. These simple pieces of metal or plastic anchor important structures to the ground to ensure that no one gets injured in the event of inclement weather.

When planning an excursion, a camper must be sure to choose the right type of stakes. Anchoring devices must be sturdy and able to be easily hammered in and out of the ground, and should not pose a tripping hazard.
