Portable pods can stabilize cameras for the perfect shot

With the advent of digital cameras, it has become possible for hikers and climbers to take HD pictures in even the most remote locations. Sweeping views of mountains and forest greenery are a great way to remember any camping trip, but a shaky hand can turn pristine sights into blurry messes. A small, portable camera pod can be used in place of hands on an outdoor excursion.

The original Gorillapod features three bendable legs that can support the average digital camera in the outdoors. The tripod can rotate and twist 360 degrees, and the rubber surface on the bottom of the legs provide a sturdy grip on surfaces like rock and wood. The apparatus can fold up to smaller dimensions for more compact storage.

This portable device is perfect for automatic shots, as a family could use a timer to ensure that every member gets into the picture for posterity. Someone like a rock climber could also film his or her endeavour to get up a rock face without pausing to adjust the camera.
