Portable outdoor water filters can be used in any situation

Water is a precious commodity when camping on a hiking trip or mountain adventure. Often, the streams and rivers in a wilderness area are not suitable for human consumption, so as the backpacking rule states, you can drink what you carry in. There are unappetizing ways around this rule, such as iodine tablets that make water taste metallic. However, some current devices can filter water from any source and leave it tasting crisp and clean.

The portable Combi microfilter can be adapted to an RV port, a motor home faucet or even a mountain stream in dire situations. The replaceable carbon filter can clean up to one quart of water per minute, and can last for around 13,000 gallons. The integrated ceramic element can be combined with the carbon filter for even cleaner water.

The optional Combi "Plus" kit features an attachable base, outlet tap, inlet hose and diverting valve that can be easily fixed upon any regular water faucet. If a camper runs out of bottled water in the woods, he or she simply needs to pull out the Combi filter to enjoy a fresh, clean beverage.
