President Obama has designated April 17 through April 25 as National Park Week.
National Park Week is an annual presidentially-proclaimed week for celebration and recognition of our National Parks.
Entrance fees during the week are waived and many parks will feature special events and activities.
The National Parks Promotion Council is offering to assist organizations, states, gateway communities and businesses in gaining attention for the special offers they plan during the week. Examples of special offers may include guided walks, photo opportunities at iconic park locations, membership incentives, special rates on day trip packages, vouchers for items purchased at retail shops and restaurant coupons.
To submit an idea for a special offer, individuals should email the National Parks Promotion Council with their offer. All offers will be posted online and publicized.
Individuals are encouraged to take advantage of the fee-free admission to discover and enjoy our National Parks during National Park Week. The parks are living examples of the best this nation has to offer - our magnificent natural landscapes and our varied yet interrelated heritage. Parks can provide recreational experiences, opportunities to learn and grow and places of quiet refuge.
