With the summer season officially here, many are looking forward to getting out there to enjoy their RVs and the great outdoors. RV expert Mark Polk recently offered some tips for keeping your vehicle comfortable during the summer heat on RV.net.
Proper ventilation is essential for keeping cool in your RV on a hot day. Using portable fans can help circulate the air and keep the interior of your vehicle comfortable. Polk also recommends installing Maxx Air vent covers over the roof vents to improve ventilation and ensure too much hot air isn't building up and making you uncomfortable.
Keeping your RV air conditioner running efficiently can be a matter of cleaning or changing the unit's air filter. Most can be washed in warm, soapy water and dried thoroughly or vacuumed clean. Replacing them is also an option to keep your unit keeping you cool.
Parking your vehicle in a shady area will also help keep it cool when the temperatures rise. And, Polk says that using patio and window awnings can also help assist with keeping the vehicle cool. Keeping window shades or blinds closed during the midday sun will also keep some of the heat out.
