Another use for RVs: Campaigning

Some political candidates across the country are using RVs to travel their states and reach potential voters.

New York's democratic state Attorney General and gubernatorial hopeful Andrew Cuomo will take his message to the road by campaigning and enjoying upstate New York's beauty and history in an RV, according to NYDailyNews.com.

Cuomo's campaign reports the candidate will eventually hit all 62 counties in the state via RV.

In Ohio, Republican Senate candidate Rob Portman and Democrat auditor candidate David Pepper are hitting the road this campaign season in recreation vehicles as well, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

"With an RV, you're doing so much more than just driving somewhere," Pepper told the news provider. He added that the RV serves as a combination campaign office and mobile billboard.

While in transit, these mobile campaign headquarters allow candidates and staff to hold meetings, get other work done, rest and even go to the bathroom.

The RV Dealers Association (RVDA) says this type of political campaigning is becoming more common.

"More and more candidates are using them," said Phil Ingrassia, RVDA vice president of communication. "They're a convenient way to travel while campaigning - or really for any kind of travel."
