Ideas for updating your RV

September 2010 RV Tips and Advice by
Print   |   Email
Like a traditional brick and mortar residence, an RV can be a home, whether it serves as a full-time dwelling or a home-away-from-home while you're out and about exploring and travelling. And, like any home, an RV or motor home gets lived in and can become outdated without some improvements.

While many RV owners choose to trade their old vehicle in and upgrade to a new one, rather than embark on improvement projects, there are many ways to make a big difference in the interior of your existing RV.

"Your RV is a big investment. With new and better technologies, plus style changes and wear and tear - some normal, some not - it makes great financial sense to keep and upgrade your coach," says Chad Yackel, founder and president of Truline RV.

Among the improvement projects many RV owners embark on include installing new carpeting or flooring, new or updated cabinetry, improved technology, such as flat screen televisions, surround sound systems, Blu-Ray or DVD players and satellite systems, as well as new exterior paint and graphics and structural changes.

Replacing worn or broken items, like window blinds, upholstery or bedding, can also make a big difference to the aesthetic value of your vehicle, without being too expensive.
