Exhibitors report positive results at Pennsylvania show
While final attendance figures for the recent Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show are still being tallied, some exhibitors from the event say that sales were extremely strong this year.
"Borderline, it was the best ever," Bill Fenech, president of the new Thor Motor Coach, told RVBusiness.com. "It was very, very encouraging. Many of our products did significantly better than any other year, and it was definitely better than last year."
Bob Tiffin, president of motorized manufacturer Tiffin Motor Homes, echoed the enthusiasm, saying that the show results may indicate that the economy and the industry are rebounding.
"I think we've got something to look forward to in the RV industry, which is definitely on the way back," Tiffin told the news provider.
Camping World, which brought 220 sales personnel to staff 13 booths representing almost a dozen manufactures at the show said it sold 560 RVs, including 100 motorhomes, during the event's six-day run.
The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show is referred to as "America's Largest RV Show." It was held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and is the first event in the nation to showcase 2011 products.
