While many odor-eliminating products are available to help keep your RV smelling great, RV expert Mark Polk recently offered tips for keeping foul smells out of your vehicle for RV.net.
Polk says that ventilation is key for keeping your motorhome odor-free. He suggests owners install aftermarket roof vent covers, like
MaxxAir vent covers, over their existing roof vents. These covers will allow you to leave the roof vents open and keep air circulating, even when it's raining outside.
He also says it's important to use your range's exhaust fan to keep odors from lingering whenever you're preparing food inside your RV.
Products like the
Fridge-It deodorizer can help eliminate odors in your refrigerator, in cabinets or in closets. However, when it comes to keeping your vehicle odor-free throughout, Polk suggests Febreze, which can be purchased at any grocery, hardware or mass retailer.
Unlike air fresheners, Febreze actually kills odor-causing bacteria, instead of just masking unpleasant scents. Polk recommends spraying it throughout the RV, on carpets, upholstery and fabrics, after every trip or before storage.
Keeping musty smells out is important as well. Products like
Dri-Z Air will help eliminate dampness, mold and mildew in your vehicle.
