Products make travelling with pets easier

A recent survey of more than 7,000 pet owners by PetRelocation.com found that 63 percent of pet owners say they travel at least 50 miles with their pets during the holidays, according to RV.net.

While one of the benefits of travelling in an RV is being able to take your pets on the road, experts remind pet owners to be prepared before taking a trip with your furry or feathered friends.

RV.net reports that unrestrained pets in autos are responsible for more than 30,000 accidents every year, according to the ASPCA.

Whether you're travelling in a car, truck, SUV or RV, products that help keep your pet restrained while en route are a worthwhile investment. These include items such as the Pet Barrier, the Backseat Car Barrier, the Kurgo Auto Zipline and the Tru-fit Smart Harness.

Individuals travelling with pets should also consider bringing vaccination records, a first aid kit, food and water, a leash, a pet bed and a leash.

Collapsible food and water bowls like Coleman's Folding Pet Bowl or Collaps-a-Bowls are ideal for travel since they fold down for easy storage and transport.

Keeping your animal contained when you reach your final destination is also important. Products like the five-star rated Pet Fence and the Retractable Tie Out may help make this part easier.
