Recently, many RV owners have been pulling the covers off of their vehicles and flocking to Palmetto Island State Park in Louisiana. Since it opened two months ago, business has been thriving, according to the Abbeville Meridional.
The RV park has 96 sites for visitors who are passing through the area and want to stop for fresh air. It is open seven days a week, including holidays, and costs $16 per site throughout the winter months. In the summer, the fee slightly increases to $20.
The park has seven full-time employees and one ranger on duty during operation hours. Even though it has attracted many motorhome travelers from across the country, a number of people who are looking to get away for the day have flocked to Palmetto Island as well. The campground offers fishing and picnic locations for outdoor lovers of all types.
Park manager Marcelle Guidry told the news source that the staff has received nothing but positive responses since opening two months ago. RV sites and cabins have been booked since Palmetto Island State Park debuted.
A family of four can save an average of 74 percent by vacationing in a motorhome, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
