Many motorhome owners in California are pulling the covers
off of their vehicles to head to 23rd Annual Manufacturers RV and Boat Show before visiting the campground this winter, according to the Mercury News.
Recently, the event began at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, covering more than one million square feet of indoor and outdoor space. RV enthusiasts from across the country are expected to attend the event in search of the latest models and gadgets available to consumers.
The motorhomes on display make the convention no easy task to set up. High-end models can be up to 45 feet in length, and with 600 RVs on display, the space can become congested quickly.
"It was tough the first couple years, getting the dealers to be friendly with each other," organizer Mike Nohr told the news source.
Each year, tent assembly begins at least one month before the show commences. Dealers begin purchasing square footage at the event more than three months before the convention. However, the planning typically pays off when manufacturers successfully get their name out to the public.
Spending three days at a campground in a motorhome costs an average of $647, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
