The sluggish economy has forced many families to cut back on their vacation funds, but RVs are giving people the ability to get away from it all in the great outdoors. Trailers range in price, but can be found for as little as $8,000, according to the Tampa Tribune.
"In the past, people had no problem going out and buying whatever vehicle they needed or wanted," marketing director of the Florida RV Trade Association Dave Kelly told the news source.
Kelly added that because of the poor economy, many individuals are monitoring their finances closely and spending less on RVs.
However, motorhome manufacturers have not stopped producing high-end models for consumers who want to splurge. New models, such as the $2.2 million Prevost RV, have been designed to cater to individuals who are still investing in luxury vehicles to travel in style.
The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association reports that a family of four can save an average of 74 percent by vacationing in a motorhome.
