RVs still available for winter Olympics in Vancouver
Tourism officials in Canada say there's a more affordable option for people who want to experience the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver. While many hotel rooms are already sold out and are going for as much as $600 per night, RVs are still available for rent and they're much more affordable.
Winterized RVs that can sleep as many as six people are renting for about $200 to $300 per night, according to Go RVing Canada.
"RVing during the Olympics is a great and affordable way to experience the Games," said Go Rving Canada spokesperson Catherine Fortin LeFaivre. "Not only will you be able to experience the beautiful B.C. winter outdoors, but you will also be at the heart of the Olympic buzz as many campgrounds are in proximity to Olympic venues."
Campgrounds in and near Vancouver are still available as well. They range in price from $40 to $75 per night, depending on how close they are to the venues. And many offer shuttle services for tourists visiting for the Olympics.
