Texas Motor Speedway catering to families

Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth is making a family friendly change just in time for the 2010 NASCAR race season.

The speedway is improving its amenities by adding a family RV campground area. The new, 158-space campground will be situated on a four acre area of land on the northeast corner of the property. It will feature reserved spaces, around-the-clock police presence, a 10 p.m. noise curfew and a zero tolerance policy for disruptive behavior.

"Some of our fans with families wanted a camping area with a bit more peace and quiet so we decided to provide an area to meet their needs for all three of our race weekends," Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. "We also made the pricing family friendly with it being the least expensive reserved campground offer we have on property."

Sites will be priced at $350 for the year, or $200 for each NASCAR race weekend and $75 for each IZOD IndyCar series weekend.

RVers will be able to arrive on April 10 for NASCAR's Samsung Mobile 500 and on October 30 for the Lone Star 500. Reservations are available by calling the speedway.
