Grilling with gas in the great outdoors
One of the great joys of camping or RVing is enjoying the outdoors, especially at meal time. A portable gas grill can be a great holiday gift for outdoor lovers as well as "foodies" who are short on space.
Portable gas grills are available for tabletop use or are free-standing like a conventional barbeque. Keep in mind that most use small portable gas canisters, but can be hooked up to a traditional propane tank with extra hoses bought separately.
They range in price from about $30 to over $200, depending on how big they are. The Weber Q220 is more high-priced than some others but is consistently rated highest among consumers. One Camping World reviewer said it "cooks evenly and outperforms any other small grill" he's used over the years. Other highly-rated stand-up grills include the Thermos Grill 2 Go II and the Coleman Road Trip Classic Grill.
Among some tabletop gas grills that are rated well by consumers include the Safari Chef All-In-One Gas Grill, the Coleman Tabletop Propane Grill, the Coleman Two Burner Electronic Ignition Propane Grill Stove, the Holland Champion Grill and the Weber Q Gas Grill.
For RVers, the Stainless Steel Mountable Grill can be attached to the outside of the vehicle or on its own. It's known for cooking food evenly and cleaning up easily.
