Is it a good time to buy an RV?
Despite the recession, it seems that many RV enthusiasts continue to have an enthusiastic outlook and even say now is a good time to buy a new RV. According to a recent Recreational Vehicle Industry Association survey, 45 percent of owners surveyed say they're considering another purchase. In addition, 24 percent said they are looking to buy in the next year; with another 48 percent saying they'll make a purchase within two years.
The RVIA survey also found that 68 percent of RVers said they believe this is good time to buy an RV, with 94 percent of those respondents saying great deals are available.
With interest rates remaining low and many dealers willing to make a deal to give business a boost, many say this is an ideal time to buy for the first time or just upgrade a current vehicle.
In addition, RV buyers who meet income requirements also will be able to take advantage of the new federal stimulus plan that provides for a deduction of sales and excise taxes on the first $49,500 of a new motorhome purchase before the end of the year.
One RV owner who recently upgraded his vehicle told RVBasics.com that great deals are available right now. "I shopped for several months and there's definitely a lot of great buying opportunities out there," said Tim Lundy.
