'Tailgate Takedown' debuts on TLC
Individuals who use their RVs for elaborate tailgates may want to tune in to see TLC's new program, Tailgate Takedown.
RV Business reports that the show is hosted by former Recreational Vehicle Industry Association and self-proclaimed "Commissioner of Tailgating" Joe Cahn.
In each episode, Cahn travels to a different college stadium and chooses three teams for an extreme cooking competition.
In addition to the competition itself, the program takes viewers on tours of the competitors' sometimes elaborate RVs for a first-hand look at the hard work, creativity, inventive technology and cooking skills that go into these over-the-top tailgates.
Celebrity judges are brought in to determine a winner for the competition based on taste, presentation and how functional the dishes are in a tailgate environment. The lucky winner receives a cash prize - and, of course, bragging rights!
"Hundreds of thousands of America's RVers travel to tailgate parties every year," said RVIA Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gary LaBella. "For those who aren't already into it, this show will surely whet their appetites, because no one tailgates better or has more fun doing it than Joe Cahn."
