August 2-6, 2001 Greenfield, Ind. It's time for the NASCAR stock cars and all your favorite drivers to once again invade Indy and all its traditions. At the inaugural race in 1994, there were many doubters, but the fans love this exciting race and the drivers love the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This race has become one of the most difficult "tickets" in all of NASCAR; the speedway ticket office has sold out in less than a week for all previous races. The police escort into the track is always a highlight of this fun-filled week of racing.
