Tips for finding the lowest gas prices for your RV
Scouting out the cheapest fuel for your RV doesn't have to mean keeping your eyes peeled while rolling down the road. There are several more high-tech ways to compare gas prices while you're on the road.
Websites like GasBuddy.com, Gasprices.Mapquest.com, FuelEconomy.gov and GasPriceWatch.com let you select a location to find the best prices nearby. These sites are certainly easy to use for many RVers for their pre-trip gas-up and for those who travel with handheld internet access and laptops.
The iGas application for iPhone finds the 10 cheapest U.S. gasoline (or diesel) stations closest to your current location. It also allows users to think ahead by entering their destination zip code in and getting a list of best prices. The application costs $2.99.
Remember that gas stations on interstates and at truck stops don't always have the lowest prices. Sometimes traveling off the beaten path on side roads will help you find the best deal.
And, if you belong to a warehouse club, like BJs Wholesale Club, you might want to take advantage of buying gas at their stations for a slight savings over others.
