Congress introduces resolutions to recognize RV Centennial Month

Both the House and the Senate have introduced resolutions that would officially recognize June as RV Centennial Month, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.

In the Senate, resolution number 410 was introduced by Democratic Senator Evan Bayh and co-sponsored by Republican Senator Richard Lugar, both of Indiana.

The resolution states, "That the Senate supports and recognizes the goals and ideals of 'RV Centennial Celebration Month' to commemorate 100 years of enjoyment of recreation vehicles in the United States; and encourages the people of the United States to celebrate this anniversary by taking part in recreation vehicle vacations."

A similar resolution was introduced in the House as well. Resolution number 1073 was introduced by two Congressmen from Indiana - Democratic Representative Joe Donnelly and Republican Representative Mark Souder.

The RV Industry Association's Government Affairs Department worked with House and Senate staffers to have the resolutions introduced and are now working to secure additional cosponsors to the resolutions, with the goal of having both chambers of Congress endorse the RV Centennial Celebration Month Resolution before June.ADNFCR-2712-ID-19630366-ADNFCR
