California campgrounds plan Easter activities
Now that spring is officially here, many families are planning trips and weekend getaways. Easter weekend is sure to be busy at campgrounds across the U.S., with many hosting family-friendly events and activities throughout the holiday weekend.
In California, many campgrounds, including Campland on the Bay in San Diego, Marina Dunes RV Park in Marina, Shady Oasis Kampground in Victorville and Smithwoods RV Park in Felton, will have Easter egg hunts.
One of the state's largest Easter egg hunt will be on Saturday, April 3 at Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort and Marina in Newport Beach. This event will feature more than 6,000 candy- and toy-filled eggs for kids of all ages to find.
Sacred Rocks Reserve in Boulevard is going high-tech with their Easter egg hunt. The campground will host an Easter egg geocaching hunt on March 27. Participants will use GPS navigation systems to guide them in their search for hidden treasures.
Other Easter activities include egg coloring contests at the Costanoa KOA, Mt. Gate RV Park in Redding and the Stockton KOA.
The Easter Bunny will also be making appearances at some campgrounds, including the Mission Bay RV Resort in San Diego, where families and children can pose for photos.
