Reality show hits the road in an RV

As an actress, reality show star and daughter of a Hollywood icon, Tori Spelling might not seem like the type to travel cross-country in an RV. But that's exactly what she, husband Dean McDermott and their two young children, Liam and Stella, are doing in the new season of their hit reality show "Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood."

The show follows the family on their journey from Los Angeles to Atlanta to visit a family friend recovering from surgery.

"I hate flying, and then I thought, 'Let's do cross country,' " Spelling told Ann Curry during a recent appearance on the Today Show. "I've never done that, and I always wanted to do it. And growing up Spelling, we didn't, you know, jump in an RV and travel cross country."

Of course, the family hits a few bumps in the road along the way, but Spelling admits that the trip helped her build an appreciation for truck stops.

"I grew up in L.A., we didn't have truck stops," she said. "And I love shopping, so I got to go to every truck stop and pick up a souvenir - my souvenir spoon from every city."

The fifth season of "Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" is on Monday nights on the Oxygen network.ADNFCR-2712-ID-19709032-ADNFCR
