Rally to celebrate centennial
"The Rally," which is the largest RV event of the year, has scheduled several events to celebrate the RV industry's 100th anniversary.
RV historian Al Hesselbart is organizing a display of vintage RVs called "Vintage Village." It will include nearly 20 old RVs from the 1930s through the 1970s.
There will also be an "Oldest RV at the Rally" contest. Individuals can sign up online or in person at the registration area. The winner will be announced at the Saturday night evening entertainment and will receive 100 gallons of gasoline or diesel for their vehicle.
The Rally is an annual event that attracts RVers from around the country. Attendance is expected to be around 4,500 RVs, which accounts for about 10,000 people at the event each day.
This year's event will be held at the at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville from July 22 through July 25.
The Rally will feature hundreds of new rigs, indoor exhibits, more than 150 seminars by the RV industry's leaders and experts, and headlining entertainers Bob Newhart and Tanya Tucker, as well as contests and activities for all ages.
