Using the bathroom in the great outdoors

One of the best perks of camping with an RV is having a bathroom. Many people who love tent camping often have one big frustration - finding and using the bathroom isn't always easy.

While many campgrounds have bathroom facilities available, campers far away from the restrooms (especially in the middle of the night), or in more remote locations, are left to answer the call of nature out in the wild.

Rugged outdoorsmen (and women) carry biodegradable toilet paper and a shovel to take care of business in the great outdoors. This is often much easier for men, as they can go to the bathroom pretty easily (and discretely) outside.

Women need to be concerned with finding a secluded enough spot and often having someone "stand guard" while going. Add in the potential dangers of poison ivy and bug bites, and many would rather avoid the situation all together.

Luckily, there are portable toilets available to purchase that are ideal for camping trips.

Thetford's Porta Potti Portable toilet, the SeaLand SaniPottie Portable toilet and the PETT Portable Toilet are all good options.
