Firm completes nationwide RV survey

A national marketing firm that specializes in the RV industry has completed its 2010 survey and is in the process of calculating the results.

BowStern, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, surveyed 660 participants over an eight-week period . The survey was administered online and targeted individual RV owners.

RVers from 37 different states participated.

Early results found that 46.5 percent of participants were between the age of 66 and 75 years old. Nearly 20 percent indicated they were partially retired and 55 percent were "100 percent retired and loving every minute of it!"

The survey consisted of 25 short questions which covered a broad range of topics designed to help industry leaders better understand the RV market, while improving the RV experience for users.

"In today's economy it is absolutely critical that we provide our clients with the most accurate information and industry intel available to ensure we get the biggest bang out of every marketing buck," said BowStern's Tom Derzypolski. "You will see, however, that we go beyond marketing in this survey and asked a broad set of questions to help developers and other industry segments meet the RV consumer's needs."
