Deer warning device may help prevent accidents involving animals
According to Car-Accidents.com, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports there are about 1.5 million car accidents with deer each year that result in $1 billion in vehicle damage, about 150 human fatalities, and more than 10,000 personal injuries.
While experts say drivers should be attentive and drive slowly with their high-beam headlights on to help avoid deer collisions, these methods are not fool-proof.
The use of deer warning devices may also help cut down on animal collisions.
This wind-activated device emits ultrasonic sound waves, which are inaudible to humans and pets inside the vehicle, but safely warn most animals (including dogs) of your approach. They begin working at a speed of 35 miles per hour and can be heard up to a quarter mile away.
The deer warning device comes as a set of two that can be mounted to the front of your vehicle with an adhesive backing. The whistles can be hidden in the grill or under the bumper.
Purchasing this product may help save both human and animal lives through reduced deer and vehicle collisions. In addition, drivers who avoid animal collisions will also be able to avoid the severe vehicle damage associated with these types of accidents.
