RV Exterior Makeover
RV Spa treatment can give almost any RV a fresh new look
Road grime, rain, sun, blowing sand, leaves and pine needles, chalky or black sidewall streaks from roof run-off…..they all take their toll on your RV’s exterior finish. Even though you might wash it from time to time, eventually your RV needs a more intensive exterior clean-up to keep it looking its best.
Robert and Linda Phillips’ 2004 Fleetwood Terra 32' Class A motorhome was ready for an exterior facelift when it arrived at the Valencia, California Camping World SuperCenter a few weeks ago. A third generation RVer, Mrs. Phillips said she and her husband, who also grew up RVing, travel throughout Southern California with their children Corey and Kendra, venturing into Northern California and Arizona on occasion. They have owned the coach and enjoyed traveling in it for the past four years.
That Weathered Look
Like any RV that is stored outside, the coach’s finish showed the effects of time and the elements, though it had no major exterior damage. Chalky white streaks had worked their way down the sides, giving the graphics a splotchy appearance. The overall finish was dull from oxidation, and some brownish environmental stains had appeared in places. The awning fabric was also in need of replacement.
After Valencia shop supervisor Kyle Bovee and detailer Jerry Tucker evaluated the Terra’s condition, they determined the Camping World
RV Spa Premium Package would be just the ticket to bring the Terra back to near showroom condition. One of four RV Spa packages available at most Camping World service centers (see sidebar), the Premium Package includes hand washing and drying; wax and tire dressing application; window cleaning; wheel polishing and water bead windshield treatment for the coach exterior. The package also includes vacuuming and cleaning carpets and flooring, windows and cabinet exteriors inside the coach.
The Results
After several hours of roof cleaning, washing and waxing the coach, buffing out oxidation and stains and applying protectants where needed, the Phillips’ Terra looked like a nearly new coach. Mrs. Phillips said the transformation was “amazing”, noting that the Terra’s exterior is now “much brighter” than before. The clean, bright finish on the coach is further enhanced by the bright new awning fabric that replaced the faded, torn original fabric. The Phillips family is now ready to embark on their next RV adventure in a clean, protected RV that’s ready to face whatever the road and the elements send its way.
Our thanks to the Valencia, California Camping World SuperCenter, Kyle Bovee and Jerry Tucker for RV Spa service and awning fabric replacement on the Phillips’ RV.
