The popularity of the RV lifestyle is growing north of the border.
Go RVing Canada reports that there was a significant increase in RV sales during the last quarter of 2009 in Ontario, with RV sales jumping 46 percent over the previous year. And industry experts say the trend is expected to continue as the RV and travel show season progresses and summer approaches.
"We are seeing increased activity and sales in our showrooms as the economy recovers," said Go RVing Canada spokesperson Catherine Fortin LeFaivre.
She added that RV prices are at an all-time low, making the RV lifestyle more of a reality for more people.
"Now is absolutely the right time to buy before prices start rising again," LeFaivre said.
The organization also cited the general affordability of RV vacations as a factor in the popularity of the RV lifestyle. A recent cost-comparison study conducted by PKF Consulting, found that typical RV vacations are up to 75 percent less expensive per day than any other type of family trip, regardless of trip duration, distance or location.
