Protect your RV appliances and your comfort at the same time by installing a 30 Amp, 110V Electrical Outlet Box at your home.
Plug your RV in to a 30 amp circuit at home and take advantage of your RV's air conditioning while preparing for a long trip or cleaning up after one. Plus, during storage, set your air conditioner's heat strip at 45-50 degrees and keep your RV dry and mildew-free. Greatly simplifies your winterizing tasks. No more anti-freeze! A 15-amp adapter may not supply sufficient amperage to get your motors up to full speed, and prevent damage from brown-out. Don't take that chance!

In stalled one at the homestead, No more extenion cords. Ran a new wire out of the breaker box ( # 8 ) with a new 30 amp breaker on its own circuit. Now I get full power and no triped breakers. No more adapters either.

I bought this product to have an electrician install it. He was able to install it with out any problems save one. When I plugged my Camper into the outlet, it blue the converter in the camper. Why? It was installed as a 220V instead of 110V. I am no electrician but apparently the outlet is the same used for 220V outlets and is not marked otherwise. I feel the product would be better if it was stamped with 110V on it.

110 VAC 30 Amp Power Outlet Box

I bought one for the front of my home where we could park the RV in the front yard to get it ready for travel. In Florida, we have no seasons, it's either hot, or hotter, like the movie "Endless Summer." Under the hot and hotter conditions, working in or packing clothes etc. can be a death trap in an RV with no A/C This box was mounted by my electrician, it mounted easily (on the concrete wall). It is obvious that it is there and that it is an electrical outlet. When people ask, "What is it and why did you put it there," it is great to reply, "It's an electriclal outlet I use to power our RV when we are getting ready to go on a trip." By all means get this box! ... It is cheaper then putting one together at Home Depot or Lowe's and it is ready to go. No assembly and it is weather resistant. Fh

Your installation may not comply with electrical code

I purchased this item from Camping World in 1999 and mounted it to my house. My Class A motor home is always plugged into it except when traveling; there has never been a problem. Installation required the separate acquisition of an exterior junction box, 10 or 12 gauge wire, and conduit. To comply with National and local Electrical Codes, the box must be on a separate, dedicated, circuit with its own 30A circuit breaker in the building's power panel. (You might consider using a ground fault interupter [GFI] breaker.) Unlike campground outlet boxes, this box contains no breaker and no other outlets except the single 30A outlet. These comments should not be construed as a criticism, only as informatory and cautionary. None of this is explained in product literature. If I had a choice, additional box choices might be offered, perhaps one that also includes a 20A duplex outlet and/or a 50A RV outlet. That, however, would require more circuits to service the box.

Not a Campground Pedestal Outlet

The unit is fabricated with heavy gauge steel and is quite solid. The 30 amp and 50 amp units are identical except one has a three-contact plug (30A) and the other a four contact plug (50A). Neither unit contains, nor has provision for, a circuit breaker or GFCI circuit breaker. Power to this unit is expected to originate at your main circuit breaker panel which means you are not likely to shut down power for connecting or disconnecting the RV cable. The circuit from the circuit breaker panel should be a dedicated circuit, meaning no other loads should be connected. Exterior conduit should be used and can be secured to either the bottom and/or the top of the box. It is hard to understand why there are no reviews for this item because Camping World has stocked the 30A and 50A outlet boxes for quite a few years. Availability is unlikely at Home Depot or Lowes. You might want to consider installation by a licensed electrical contractor.

I have bought three of them so far. They have been easy for me to install. One is on a post outside in a wooded area at my sisters house. I had one on the side of my last house and now have one in my garage. The trailer is always plugged in. It 's great to be able to run the air conditioner when the weather is hot while packing or cleaning. I'm getting a fourth one for my sister's garage so she can plug in her new B motor home.

Installed this back in 2011 and it hasn't lost any of its original performance. Heavy construction and the outlet is still firm and grips the plug well.

Excellent product and everything you need to hook up your 30 amp RV to your house. It was easy to install and works great. The only thing I have to do in addition to closing the lid, is to stuff some cloth or non-conducting material in the hole on the bottom when not in use to prevent wasps, etc from using it as their home. If the product had some sort of shield for this opening, I would have rated it as a 5 star item.
