Out of the box the motor housing screws had all come loose because they were too short, and the housing was separated. This caused the wire connections to come undone and they needed to be reconnected and tightened. There was no Boot Snap Seal, so the switch is still unprotected. Once all of this was corrected (I supplied my own screws to attach the housing) the installation was very simple. The Jack works well and I am happy with performance.

I bought this jack in April 2008. Installed easy. The only problem i had was it got wet inside the motor and stopped working. Being able to do this myself, I took it apart,used CRC electrical film cleaner and sealer on all elec.parts. It worked fine after that,and to this day. Mine did not come with a cover,still don't have one don't need it . It did come with a crank for manual use. I did cut it in half welded extension to it to clear tanks. I would recomend this to everyone. 4 stars because of electrial. I do know they have improved now. Would recommend to all.

I purchased this jack in October 2010 for my 2006 Jayco 31BHS and installed it in the parking lot of the Chattanooga Camping World. I was on my way to camp at a park in Chattanooga and after getting exhausted on previous trips because of the manual crank jack, Having it has made set up and break down so much easier which reduces the stress of what's supposed to be a relaxing trip. On my last trip a few weeks ago, upon returning home and disconnecting from my truck hitch, during the jack operation I noticed small metal shavings coming from the shaft underneath the tongue. The shavings were landing on the jack foot plate and were very noticable. The jack also skipped a few times on it's way down, usually 1/4 inch drop each time. Figuring this was a gear or motor issue I was hoping I still had my original receipt. I found my receipt from October 2010 and called Camping World who referred me to Ultra Fab to have the under covered under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I spoke to a nice lady at Ultra Fab who tranferred me to Marv. I explained what was happening and Marv said it was definitely a warranty issue and shipped a new jack to me with 2 day shipping. They covered shipping the new unit to me and the shipping of the defective unit back to their warehouse. Ultra Fab stands behind their products and makes sure to address issues to the best of their ability to ensure the customer remains satisfied with their purchase.

I had received this item as a gift last year, and encountered a minor malfunction which caused the main post to spin in addition to raising and lowering. I went to the manufacturer's website, and told them as much. THE NEXT DAY, I received a phone call to help me troubleshoot the problem. I was determined that the problem was not an easy fix I could perform myself, so within 5 minutes, I was told they would ship a replacement to me, free of charge, shipping to be completely paid by ultra-fab. I was duly impressed, and despite the original problem (reason for only 4 stars), and the fact that I am unsure if this original problem will crop up again, I would buy from this manufacturer again, due to their superior customer service commitment.
